BIRTH OF THE EMPRESS

“The Emperor of the Dawn,”

he finally introduced himself

Sending me a text

While we were sitting on a candle lit beach

Where people were singing

We were sitting there

Having just had a cigarette after sex…

“Hello” he had said just a few hours ago

When I stepped into the salty water

“Hello” I replied

The sun started going down

And we delved into the golden hour beyond time

The Ocean became more and more infinite

As we floated further and further

The water felt less and less salty

And sweetness grew stronger and stronger

Until the slightest saltiness dissolved

And boundaries were no more…

There… he came in

And the sun went down

I think he,

the Sun I mean,

noticed us

And waived with his golden robe

Making the water around us glow

Mmmhhh…

There… I went in…

I surrendered to the dream

that was reality

reminded by a slight sensation

caused by salty water in my temple…

We were almost back to the shore

When I finally opened my eyes

Just to see the dream continuing

“Ide were were”… a mantra to the Goddess of sweet waters they sang

around candles

We sat down

I rolled a tobacco

And whispered:

“This beach will always be a beach of sweet waters…”

That’s when he introduced himself

And maybe that’s where the Emperor was born

Because what I didn’t know was

That actually all beaches and seas

became ones of sweet waters from there on

Because…

Not just the Emperor, but also he Empress was born

So I opened my phone

the next morning on this new beach

that’s water was ever so sweet

And texted him:

“The Empress of Sweet Waters. Nice to meet you!”

And although there was no reply

And his love lasted just till the dawn

It was enough

A new love story had begun

A never-ending one

Be well, dear Emperor!

Sincerely Yours,

The Empress
